Sales Engineer, Water Utility - Digital

As our new Sales Engineer, Water Utility - Digital, you will be driving the adoption of Grundfos digital solutions across UK water utilities, combining technical expertise with commercial acumen to help customers solve their most pressing water infrastructure challenges through smart, connected technologies. What You Will Be Doing
As a key part of the Water Utility Sales, UK team, you'll create impact by accelerating the digital transformation of the UK water sector by connecting utilities with intelligent pumping and water management solutions that reduce energy consumption, minimise leakage, and enhance operational performance.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute sales strategies for Grundfos digital and IoT-enabled solutions targeting water utility customers across the UK
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at water utilities, including asset managers, operations leads, and digital transformation teams
- Deliver compelling technical presentations and demonstrations of digital monitoring, control, and optimisation solutions
- Collaborate with application engineers and product specialists to design tailored digital solutions that address specific customer needs
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, industry events, and existing account development
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to inform product development and go-to-market strategies

What Makes You a Great Fit
Above all, you are a technically confident sales professional with a strong understanding of the water utility sector and a genuine enthusiasm for digital innovation and smart water technologies. We would also imagine that you have:
- 3+ years of technical sales experience in the water/wastewater industry or related infrastructure sector
- Solid understanding of digital solutions such as SCADA, IoT sensors, remote monitoring, or predictive analytics in an industrial context
- Proven track record of managing complex B2B sales cycles with utility or public sector customers
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the UK

It is a plus if you also have:
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification in a relevant discipline
- Existing relationships within UK water utility companies (e.g., Thames Water, Anglian Water, Severn Trent)
- Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce and familiarity with consultative selling methodologies
