We are seeking a Director of Sales Engineering to provide strategic, technical, and people leadership for the Sales Engineering organisation across UK and Ireland. This role operates at scale, setting direction rather than executing individual deals, and is accountable for talent development, technical excellence, customer impact, and alignment with Cohesity’s long-term vision. The Director acts as a leader, trusted advisor to customers and partners.

How You’ll Spend Your Time Here:

  • Lead, coach, and develop Sales Engineering managers and teams, building a strong culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and customer focus.
  • Define and execute the regional Sales Engineering strategy aligned with Cohesity’s Data Security, Data Cloud portfolio including backup, recovery, cyber resilience.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality presales engagement across the region, including technical discovery, demonstrations, workshops, and proofs of concept.
  • Act as a senior technical advisor for complex customer and partner engagements, influencing long-term architecture and security strategies.
  • Provide executive oversight for RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and strategic opportunities, ensuring clear, accurate, and differentiated technical positioning.
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership and Sales teams to support pipeline growth and successful deal execution at scale.
  • Represent customer and field requirements into Product Management and Engineering, influencing roadmap priorities and product enhancements.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to resolve complex technical challenges and ensure a strong customer experience.
  • Establish operating rhythms, best practices, and governance that enable the Sales Engineering organisation to scale effectively.

We’d Love to Talk to You If You Have Many of the Following:

  • Extensive experience leading Sales Engineering managers and teams in a competitive technology environment.
  • Extensive experience in enterprise security, cyber resilience, ransomware recovery, and compliance landscapes.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise security concepts such as ransomware, cyber recovery, compliance frameworks, and risk mitigation, with the ability to coach sellers on engaging security and IT stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence executive-level stakeholders (CIO, CISO, CTO, and senior partners), shaping technical strategy, aligning solutions to business outcomes, and building durable, long-term customer and partner relationships.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools, data, and insights to drive operational excellence, improve decision-making, and scale team productivity and consistency across a distributed organisation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical leadership experience.
  • Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate complex technical and strategic concepts clearly to senior audiences.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support strategic customers, partners, and global team development.
