We are looking for a Full time Sales & Events Executive to join our team at The Honourable Society of Middle Temple.
Based in the heart of the city, Middle Temple, is the perfect venue for any occasion, with four beautiful and versatile event spaces that interlink with each other: The Hall and our 3 Bench Apartments – Parliament Chamber, Queen’s Room and Prince’s Room, ideal not only for weddings and private dinners, but also conferences, product launches, exhibitions, and informal gatherings.

Sales and Events Executive
Job Description
Job Title: Sales and Events Executive
Contract type: 40 hours a week
(Some additional evenings and weekends may be required)
Based at: Middle Temple
Reporting to: Sales and Marketing Manager
Overall Objectives:
- Building client proposals and responding to enquiries
- To sell and coordinate events
- To plan outstanding events for our private, corporate, wedding, and production clients
- To market the venue as a wedding, corporate, and private hire event space
Event sales specific responsibilities:
- Responding to enquiries in a timely manner
- Liaising with existing and prospective clients regarding their event requirements and creating bespoke quotes in line with company pricing policy
- Sell private, wedding, and corporate events from the point of initial enquiry to contract
- Plan and coordinate the confirmed events from the point of contract to the week prior to the event
- Create contracts and events sheets
- Conduct show rounds with provisional and confirmed clients if required
- Organise event requirements through to final details
- Maintain all aspects of the client files effectively and efficiently
- Manage key external suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of events
- Ensure event finances and invoicing is managed effectively
- Upsell where possible to ensure maximum profitability of each event
- Work towards team and individual targets
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work well in a fast paced and challenging environment
- Attend weekly meetings with the ops team and venue team to discuss the delivery and operations of the events
- Attend fortnightly 1-2-1’s with your line manager
- Attend monthly sales and marketing meetings
- Create detailed function sheets for smooth handover to operations
- Maintain and update the event diary and CRM system in a prompt and timely fashion
- Attend tradeshows if and when required

Personal Specifications:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a subject related to the job role
- Minimum of 2-years’ experience in a similar role within Event Sales
- Proven track record in meeting team and individual targets
- Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with individuals on all levels
- Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
- Excellent numerical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- A proactive and positive “can do” attitude
- Confident self-starter and good team player
- Networking skills
- Continually strive to enhance customer service.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with an ability to manage a multi event workload
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Experience using Rendezvous or a similar CRM system is desirable
- A keen interest in food & drink
- Industry knowledge and familiarity with hospitality sales trends and event planning best practices
