Sales & Events Manager – Browns West India Quay

Are you a driven sales professional with a passion for hospitality, events, and generating new business?

Browns West India Quay is part of Browns Brasserie & Bar, one of the UK's best-loved hospitality brands, and forms part of the Mitchells & Butlers portfolio, a leading restaurant and pub company operating a range of well-known brands across the UK.

Browns WIQ is a stunning waterfront brasserie located in the heart of Canary Wharf. A sought-after destination for corporate functions, exclusive venue hire, group bookings, and special occasions, making it one of the most distinctive hospitality venues in the Canary Wharf area. Overlooking the docks and featuring a large waterside terrace, Browns attracts a diverse mix of corporate professionals, local residents, tourists, and leisure guests throughout the year.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Sales & Events Manager who thrives on building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and exceeding commercial targets. You'll play a key role in growing our corporate client base, developing bespoke events, and creating new revenue streams across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Generating new business through proactive sales activity including cold calling, networking, referral campaigns, corporate outreach, and local sales initiatives.
  • Driving group bookings, private events, exclusive venue hire, and large-scale corporate events.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients, agents, resellers, and third-party bookers.
  • Managing enquiries efficiently and converting enquiries into confirmed bookings, achieving a conversion rate of 70%+.
  • Creating and selling bespoke events and experiences that deliver incremental revenue and profit.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Managing enquiries promptly via phone and email, converting opportunities into confirmed bookings.
  • Working closely with Marketing, Brand, and Operations teams to support promotional campaigns and revenue-driving events.
  • Developing quarterly sales activity plans aligned to business objectives and KPIs.
  • Negotiating commercial agreements, pricing, and packages with clients and agents.
  • Organising and hosting venue showcase events to promote facilities and services.
  • Tracking sales performance, maintaining accurate revenue reporting, and providing insights on future opportunities.
  • Ensuring a seamless handover and delivery process for large-scale events and group bookings.
  • Delivering excellent customer service, after-sales care, and relationship management to encourage repeat business and referrals.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven track record of generating new business and delivering revenue growth.
  • Strong experience in business development, corporate sales, or hospitality sales.
  • Skilled at building relationships and winning new clients through proactive networking and outreach.
  • Confident managing a sales pipeline and working towards ambitious targets and KPIs.
  • Commercially focused with excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and results-driven.
  • Experience within hospitality, events, leisure, venues, or group bookings would be highly advantageous.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences while driving business growth.

This is a full-time role requiring a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business and deliver agreed targets. The role operates on a five-day working week, typically Monday to Friday, though occasional weekend work may be required. Any Saturday or Sunday working will be planned and is usually linked to key events or full-venue hires to ensure seamless event coordination and an excellent client experience. While this role is a Sales & Events Manager level and engages externally with corporate clients and partners, it is contractually aligned to our retail management structure and payroll-linked to Browns West India Quay. This enables strong integration between sales, brand, and operational delivery.
