Peter Cooper Motor Group (PCMG), founded in 1981, is a long-established, family-run automotive business with over 40 years of experience and a strong reputation for customer care. The group has grown from a single showroom in Hedge End, Southampton, to 14 successful businesses across eight locations in Hampshire and West Sussex, employing over 250 team members and serving more than 40,000 loyal customers.

About the Role: Sales Executive (Portsmouth)
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Portsmouth, responsible for driving vehicle sales while delivering a high standard of customer service. The successful candidate will be a keen negotiator, motivated salesperson, and excellent communicator who thrives in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Engage and greet customers in the showroom, assessing their needs and suggesting suitable vehicles (new or used).
- Conduct test drives and demonstrate vehicles, highlighting key features.
- Explain finance and leasing options, negotiating terms within company guidelines.
- Guide customers through the entire sales process, from initial enquiry to vehicle handover.
- Maintain accurate records in the dealership’s CRM system, follow up on leads, and support promotional campaigns.
- Collaborate with service, parts, and back-office teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Stay updated with product knowledge, brand standards, and developments in electric and hybrid vehicles.
- Represent PCMG professionally, reflecting its reputation for excellent service.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven sales experience, with a focus on consultative selling, relationship building, and professional customer engagement.
- Prior experience in vehicle sales, finance/new car leasing, and a basic understanding of automotive products, including electric and hybrid vehicles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain complex information clearly and build trust with diverse customers.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to:
- Maintain accurate sales and lead records.
- Manage a sales pipeline effectively.
- Comfort with digital tools, including:
- CRM software
- Online lead platforms
- Basic office applications (e.g., Excel, Microsoft Word)
- Preferred: Experience in retail automotive or a comparable sales environment.
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be able to conduct test drives safely.
- Willingness to work showroom hours, including weekends and peak trading periods as required.
