GB Customs Clearance (an Unusual Customs company) · UK-based, remote or hybrid (Immingham / Harwich)
About GB Customs Clearance (hiring company)
GB Customs Clearance is an HMRC AEO-C accredited customs agent based in the United Kingdom. We support a wide range of UK-based and international companies in processing declarations of cross-border road, sea, and air freight shipments. Our team of customs specialists operates from offices in Immingham and Harwich. As part of the expanding Unusual Customs group, we are now looking for a dedicated Sales Executive.
About Unusual Customs (group)
Unusual Customs is building Europe's first AI-native customs brokerage and trade compliance group. We are building AI technology from the ground up and combining it with the deep knowledge of customs professionals to offer a market-leading service to our customers. We have started in the UK and are soon expanding to the Netherlands, Germany, and France. The founding team spans logistics, international trade, and AI technology, and is building for the long term.
For the candidate, this means the stability and client base of an established, accredited customs business, combined with the ambition, resources, and growth trajectory of a well-funded platform in its early stages — and an early, influential seat as the group scales across Europe.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The role
You will own the full new-business cycle — identifying, qualifying, and converting importers, exporters, and freight forwarders into customs declaration clients. This is a dedicated, hands-on acquisition role: You will sell to a broad range of businesses, from SMEs to large enterprises, that move goods in and out of the UK, working closely with the operations team to ensure a smooth handover as each client comes on board. Representing GB Customs Clearance at industry events will also be part of the remit.
As the company's first dedicated sales hire, you will have a high degree of independence and increasing ownership, as the business and commercial function grow. You will report to the holding company's commercial lead, working in close alignment with the GB Customs Clearance Director.
