Sales Executive (PBSA/BTR)
🔍 Sales Executive – Student Accommodation (PBSA/BTR) Location: Sheffield City Centre (office-based, hybrid, or remote)
💰 Compensation: Base Salary: £24,500 plus commission (on-target earnings: £35,000).
📌 About the Role
Are you a confident, persuasive Sales Executive who thrives on speaking to people and closing deals?
Our rapidly growing PBSA/BTR (Purpose Built Student Accommodation / Build to Rent) team is hiring a Sales Executive to convert student demand into bookings. This role is fast-paced and high-volume, with the majority of your time spent on calls, emails, and WhatsApp, pursuing and securing bookings.
You’ll report directly to the Head of New Business (PBSA/BTR) in a small but impactful team (currently four people) as we enter an exciting phase of growth.
This is all about speedy, professional student-to-booking conversion, ensuring an exceptional experience at every step. While there’s occasional administrative support (e.g., listing accuracy or updating operator info), the focus remains firmly on sales conversion and achieving booking outcomes.
Important note: This role involves no cold calling—your job is to follow up warm student queries, build rapport quickly, and confidently move conversations toward bookings.
⏰ Working Pattern
- Core office hours: Mon–Thu: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Fri: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with a one-hour unpaid lunch).
- Shifts: Three core-hour shifts, two late shifts per week (12:00 PM – 8:30 PM, including a one-hour unpaid break).
- Flexibility: Occasional weekend work may be required depending on demand.
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Rapidly progress warm student enquiries to confirmed bookings.
- Manage high-volume calls, emails, and WhatsApp conversations while staying organised and maintaining quality under pressure.
- Build trust as your go-to point of contact—provide accurate property details and guide students through booking procedures specific to PBSA operators.
- Collaborate with PBSA operations teams and internal staff to ensure seamless bookings.
- Occasionally visit PBSA sites or operator locations to deepen product knowledge and strengthen partner relationships.
- Support light operational duties, such as updating operator info or listing accuracy.
- Use Salesforce and defined processes to track leads, follow-ups, and booking statuses consistently and efficiently.
- Proactively flag and resolve issues while keeping students informed to maintain a smooth journey.
- Occasionally assist with reporting or administrative requests.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
