Sales Executive – The North

Drive growth in the housing and social care sector by bringing Appello’s digital solutions to new customers—and expanding success with existing ones.


Key Details

  • Hours: 35 per week (Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00)
  • Salary: £35,000 per annum plus £10,000 OTE (On-Target Earnings)
  • Car Allowance: £6,000 per annum
  • Location: Field-based (North of England, covering North Wales and above Birmingham)
  • Start Date: August 2026 (subject to pre-employment screening, including 2 years referencing)
  • Work Basis: UK-based (hybrid/remote work may vary)

About the Role

You’ll champion Appello’s digital solutions across UK housing and social care sectors, driving new business, nurturing existing accounts, and supporting customers through their digital transformation. Your responsibilities include:

Daily Responsibilities

🚀 Promoting Appello Digital Solutions

  • Understand UK housing and social care challenges and present tailored Appello solutions via:
    • Face-to-face / virtual meetings (Teams)
    • Calls, emails, and social media channels
    • Industry events and conferences for insights
  • Log and manage opportunities in CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics or similar)

📈 New Business Generation

  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to meet department/role targets
  • Hit financial and order goals while protecting margins
  • Develop Account Development Plans (ADPs) for high-potential prospects
  • Engage stakeholders through multiple channels (emails, proposals, demos)

🤝 Account Management

  • Resolve client queries promptly with professionalism
  • Grow revenue & profit within existing accounts
  • Update CRM records and maintain financial targets
  • Develop ADPs for key clients and strengthen stakeholder relationships

About You

🏆 Experience & Skills

You’re a confident, relationship-driven sales professional with a proven track record in: ✅ New business development, ideally in:

  • Social alarms
  • Telecoms
  • Digital service environments ✅ Account management & customer relations, including:
  • CRM mastery (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint at advanced level) ✅ Commercial awareness with tactical & strategic problem-solving

🌟 Desirable Experience

  • Health & social care sector knowledge
  • IP-based digital solutions, managed services, or subscription models
  • Tech-savvy with familiarity in:
    • IoT (Internet of Things) devices
    • Telecoms, monitoring systems, TECS (Ticket-Event-Control-System), or warden-call systems

🎓 Qualifications & Training

  • Educated to GCSE/O-Level/NVQ Level 2-3 or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in:
    • Social alarms
    • Monitoring
    • Digital telecare
    • Telecoms

🌟 Desirable Qualifications

  • Formal sales training (e.g., LDL, SPIN, Holden, TAS)
  • Knowledge of monitoring centres or dispersed alarm systems

  • Strong understanding of the housing & social care/TECS space
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Attention to detail, relationship management, and report writing
  • Organized, adaptable, and resilient under pressure
