Sales Leader- UK & Ireland

Sales Leader (UK & Ireland) – HVAC & Controls | Plumbing

Commercial & Strategic Growth Lead

We’re seeking a commercially driven Sales Leader to accelerate the growth of our HVAC & Controls and Plumbing business across the United Kingdom and Ireland, with a strong focus on the WHO segment. The right candidate will drive strategic commercial initiatives, develop customer relationships, and execute high-impact sales strategies.

About the Role

This high-level leadership position requires a proven sales executive with 7–10 years of commercial experience in HVAC, plumbing, or building services, combined with strong strategic thinking and hands-on execution skills. You will:

  • Oversee UK & Ireland sales strategy, ensuring market expansion and growth.
  • Build key customer relationships with consultants, specifiers, installers, contractors, and wholesalers.
  • Develop and implement specification-driven sales and pull-through strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product management, and operations for cross-functional alignment.
  • Lead a high-performance commercial team, coaching regional sales managers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Develop and execute the UK sales strategy for HVAC & Controls and Plumbing.
  • Drive sustainable sales growth and market share expansion in both markets.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including vertical market strategies.
  • Lead specification and pull-through sales initiatives to drive project execution.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to uncover growth opportunities.

Operational & Performance Management

  • Forecast sales accurately, manage the business pipeline, and deliver commercial reporting.
  • Optimise pricing strategies and commercial negotiations for maximum profitability.
  • Support regional sales managers and internal sales teams, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering (HVAC/Mechanical), or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • 7–10+ years of commercial experience in HVAC, plumbing, controls, building services, or water technologies.
  • Proven sales team management experience, with a track record of driving commercial performance.
  • Deep understanding of the UK & Ireland plumbing, HVAC, and specification channels.
  • Expertise in specification sales, working with consultants, contractors, and wholesalers.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Financial acumen, including budget management and sales forecasting.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales analytics tools.
  • familiarity with building services specifications (RIBA, BS, or similar standards).
  • Full UK driving license (essential for frequent travel).

Personality & Soft Skills

  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capabilities.
  • Results-driven, with analytical and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to build long-term partnerships with key clients.
  • Experience in an international matrix organisation (advantage).
  • Travel-ready for regular UK-wide movement.

Bonus Attributes:

  • Familiarity with WHO segment strategies (technical/homeowners’ associations).
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) or digital sales tools.
