Birmingham has no shortage of entry-level jobs. The harder part is finding one that pays you to learn, surrounds you with ambitious people and gives you somewhere meaningful to progress.
Sage is opening a new intake for its Birmingham City Centre team, offering local candidates the chance to build experience in sales, customer engagement and leadership. Whether you are coming from retail, hospitality, customer service, sport, recruitment or university, this could be the opportunity that turns your people skills into a genuine long-term career.
You do not need previous sales experience or an impressive corporate CV. We are looking for people from across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands who are reliable, motivated and ready to learn in a busy, people-focused environment.
Who We Are
Sage is a Birmingham-based marketing and business consultancy that supports established brands with customer acquisition, client engagement and market growth.
Our teams work directly with customers, creating professional face-to-face experiences that help our clients strengthen their presence and reach new audiences.
We believe the best way to develop commercial skills is through practical experience. From your first week, you will receive structured training, individual coaching and the opportunity to learn directly from experienced team leaders.
The Role
As a Sales & Leadership Trainee, you will begin by learning how successful customer conversations are handled, how client campaigns operate and how individual performance contributes to wider business growth.
This is an active, hands-on position. You will work alongside the Birmingham team on live campaigns while developing skills in communication, customer acquisition, negotiation, problem-solving and leadership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
