Building the Leaders that Build Britain

Own our sales operation, drive the pipeline and the numbers, and build the team that delivers them. A hands-on, office-based commercial role in a group going places.

Location: Office Based - Coventry, West Midlands (with occasional travel)
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000
Commission: Generous & Uncapped
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

About OM Group

The OM Group is a multi-division business built around construction and the built environment. Learning and development, compliance and building safety, professional services, and our construction training platform all pull towards one purpose: raising standards, and developing the people and businesses who build Britain.

We are growing quickly, and investing in what makes growth stick. Our people, our brand, our systems, and the AI tools we are rolling out across the Group. This role sits at the centre of that next stage. It is hands-on, commercial, and it will shape how the whole Group sells.

The Opportunity

This is a role for someone who wants to sell and to build. You will win business yourself, from the front, and you will lead and grow a sales team, putting in place the process, pipeline, and discipline a growing function needs. It is a great opportunity for an experienced salesperson looking to step up and add leadership to their remit, or for an established leader looking to build something fresh and new whilst still driving sales.

You will own the day-to-day sales operation: managing the team, driving new business and the numbers, converting the leads our marketing function generates, and building a consistent way of selling. Learning and development is the primary sales focus, with the role also building client awareness across the Group's other services.

Selling here is built on relationships. Our clients are employers and professionals across construction and the built environment, and they buy from people they rate and trust. Your job is to become that name for them, to understand their world and earn the confidence that makes you the partner they call first. Get that right and the doors open, from training into compliance, building safety, and the rest of what we do.

It is a genuine opportunity for a strong salesperson. Our industry needs better skills and higher standards, and we are the group building the leaders that build Britain, so you will be selling something that carries real weight. Your buyers will range from site-level construction professionals to senior managers to learning and development teams, and knowing how to read each one and shift your pitch is where the best salespeople pull ahead. Do it well and you will not just hit your numbers, you will help grow a brand that is raising standards right across the industry.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

So bring the drive to sell and the ambition to lead. If you want real ownership, a brand worth getting behind, and the chance to build something that lasts, this is the role.

What you'll be doing

Sell from the front

  • Win new business yourself and lead the conversations that matter, setting the standard the rest of the team sells to.
  • Sell consultatively across the Group's services, reading each buyer and shifting your approach even when they sit inside the same client.
  • Sell across every channel, from ecommerce and telesales to face-to-face.
  • Build and work a strong pipeline, creating demand rather than waiting for enquiries to land.

Build and lead the team

  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and manage the sales team, and get new people productive and selling quickly.
  • Develop your people with regular one-to-ones, straight feedback, and clear performance management.
  • Build a positive, high-performing culture where good work gets recognised.

Run a strong sales operation

  • Put in place a clear, repeatable sales process that every division can sell to.
  • Own and manage the CRM (Dynamics 365), and keep the CEO across pipeline, forecasts, and results.
  • Make the most of the AI and digital tools we are rolling out across the Group, to work smarter and spend more time selling.
  • Work hand in hand with marketing, follow up leads fast, and feed back on what is converting.
  • Work with delivery and operations so that what you sell gets delivered brilliantly.

Who is this role for

This will suit an ambitious sales professional who can win business in their own right and lead others well. You might be:

  • Ready to step up. A strong salesperson ready to move into management, who can already point to real evidence of leading, coaching, or developing others. The leadership side is not an afterthought here, so you will bring the appetite and the ability to grow into it.
  • An established manager. An experienced sales manager who still sells from the front and knows how to build in a service-led or fast-changing business.

What you'll bring

  • A selling track record: A proven history of winning business yourself and hitting or beating your targets, selling services, training, or other expertise-led offers.
  • Leadership: The ability, and ideally the experience, to lead, recruit, and coach a team that delivers.
  • Relationship-led selling: You sell on trust, credibility, and value, building the kind of relationships that make clients choose you, rather than competing on price alone.
  • CRM confidence: Comfortable using a CRM, ideally Dynamics 365, to manage your pipeline and report on sales.
  • AI confidence: Comfortable using AI tools to work smarter, or the willingness to learn, as we roll them out across the Group.
  • Drive: A hands-on, target-driven attitude and the appetite to build something as the Group grows.

A plus, not a must: experience of the construction or built environment sector, and of learning and development or training, will be useful. That said, we would rather find the right person and the right leader and teach you our sector than the other way around.

The OM Group Landscape

This is a growing business with real ambition, and this role sits right at the heart of it. You will be building as much as running. There is genuine room to shape how we sell and to put your own structure in place, growing the operation as the Group grows. Roles that hand you that much ownership do not come along often.

Part of what makes it exciting is the timing. The Group is expanding and our services are in demand. The market we work in cares more than ever about skills and standards, and that plays straight to what we do. It is a strong position to sell from, and there is still plenty of ground to win. You will have the freedom to go after it your own way and take the numbers as far as you can push them.

You will create demand as well as convert it, and you will be doing it behind a brand that means something. Building the leaders that build Britain is not a line we picked at random.

It is what the work actually does, and you will be the one putting it in front of the businesses and professionals who need it. If you want a real chance to build something and see it grow, we would love to hear from you.

What we offer

  • Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 base, depending on experience, plus uncapped commission. What you earn is up to you.
  • Development: We invest in our people, and you will have the support to keep growing as a seller and a leader.
  • AI and digital tools: Access to the AI tools we are rolling out across the Group, so you spend more time selling.
  • Travel: Occasional client visits, expensed as needed.
  • Pension: Group pension scheme.
  • Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays.
  • Progression: Real scope to grow with the Group as the sales function expands
