Sales Manager
Hello! We're Teya.
Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.
At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities. We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street. We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.
We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.
Become a part of our story. We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.
As we continue to expand our operations in the UK, we're looking for an Area Sales Manager to help scale our established Independent Sales Consultant (ISC) channel across the North of England.
This is a fast-paced, high-velocity field role working alongside self-employed sales professionals who operate as independent partners. Reporting into a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and supported by the wider channel team, you'll build a high-performing, sustainable regional operation taking responsibility for coaching and developing your ISCs from their very first week through to the point they're ready to operate independently.
This is a hands-on, field-based role with real autonomy. Success is measured by both the revenue impact you drive and the strength and maturity of the channel you help build.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for:
- Build, lead and inspire a commission-only sales network, setting the standard, driving accountability, and earning influence without relying on traditional management levers.
- Take full ownership of your team's commercial performance, turning a self-employed consultant in their first week into a high-output revenue engine.
- Be there for every step of the ISC journey with a particular focus on their first 90 days, showing up in person, building trust, laying the foundations of the partnership and making every stage of the Teya journey count.
- Get out in the field alongside your ISCs, coaching live on merchant calls, running weekly reviews, and doing whatever it takes to keep your team sharp and on track.
- Stay ahead of the curve by running regular quality assessments with Sales Enablement and RSMs, identifying blockers, pricing issues and at-risk ISCs before they become problems.
- Unite new joiners and experienced sellers across your territory through monthly in-person sessions that forge a genuine team culture and fuel consistent performance.
- Dig into the data to uncover growth opportunities, cut through friction, and keep your region accelerating.
- Champion the consultant experience at every level, taking field insight directly to Product, Marketing and Operations to make Teya's tools, messaging and resources the best they can be.

- Commercially literate and comfortable with performance data, incentive structures and the unit economics that drive a healthy channel.
- Highly organised and resilient, able to manage multiple priorities and keep standards high in a fast-moving environment.
- A direct, empathetic communicator who can give honest feedback and hold people accountable without losing the relationship.
- Process disciplined and familiar with structured framework and what it takes to build something that scales.
- Car owner/driver with willingness to spend a minimum of 50% of your time in the field across your region.
