Sales Manager – All Commodities

Location: St Ives, Cambs/Hybrid with client visits

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Sales Manager to drive sales growth and profitability across our commodities portfolio. This role combines strategic business development, account management, and a strong emphasis on cost estimating, pricing, and commercial analysis to ensure competitive and profitable solutions for our customers.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing accurate quotations, managing pricing strategies, and identifying opportunities to maximise revenue while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth through new business development and management of key customer accounts.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations, and pricing proposals that support profitability targets.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies through market, margin, and cost analysis.
  • Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements with customers.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for growth across the commodities portfolio.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of customer solutions and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in a Sales Manager, Business Development, Commercial, or Estimating role.
  • Strong background in cost estimating, pricing, quotations, and margin management.
  • Commercially astute with excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Confident negotiator with a track record of building strong customer relationships and winning new business.
  • Experience within commodities, recycling, waste management, logistics, manufacturing, or a similar industry is advantageous.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and results-driven with strong communication skills.
