The Role

Our client is seeking their next Sales Manager to establish and lead their new business function during a period of rapid growth.

They provide a leading distributed SQL database, trusted by industry giants such as OpenAI, CoreWeave, Netflix, Roblox, and DoorDash—critical for workloads that demand zero downtime. The company has achieved significant cost efficiency and is positioned as the cheapest high-scale database while maintaining unmatched resilience.

This is a building role, not a maintaining one. You’ll be handed a small but talented team and be responsible for scaling them to new heights.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Active Coaching: Conduct weekly 1:1s, live call monitoring, and role-play sessions. It’s not about instructing—it’s about showing.
  • Strategy & Execution: Align high-level company goals with daily prospecting and ensure execution remains sharp and focused.
  • Pipeline Management: Strike CRM discipline to optimise lead flow and drive upward conversion rates.
  • Culture Building: Build a competing yet collaborative "win-room" culture, where success is celebrated and failures are reframed as learning opportunities.
  • Recruitment: Identify and onboard elite sales talent as the team scales further.

What You Bring:

  • SaaS or infrastructure sales experience, preferably in software development or enterprise tech contexts.
  • 2+ years minimum of sales leadership experience, with a proven ability in managing teams—preferably in New Business/BDM roles.
  • Proven track record: Consistently hit or exceeded targets in past leadership roles.
  • Emotional intelligence: Understands the "why" behind different individuals’ motivations, and knows how to push for higher performance while offering timely support.
  • Analytical grip: Can diagnose bottlenecks in the sales funnel and design actionable training solutions to address them.
