We’re supporting an innovative, high-growth ophthalmology medical device company with the hire of a Sales Manager for the UK.
This is a business-critical hire, central to accelerating commercial growth and supporting future fundraising and equity objectives. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving adoption of cutting-edge ophthalmology technology across the UK retina market.
The role requires a strong “boots on the ground” commercial presence, with regular visits to hospitals and clinics to build direct relationships with ophthalmologists and retina specialists, driving awareness and adoption of a market-leading laser-based device portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive adoption of innovative ophthalmology and retina-focused medical devices across the UK
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with ophthalmologists, retina specialists, and key clinical stakeholders
- Build, manage, and grow a defined territory with full commercial ownership
- Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic account plans to expand market penetration
- Work closely with international headquarters in Denmark to align on commercial strategy and execution
- Represent the business at conferences, congresses, and clinical training events
- Act as a key market presence, increasing product awareness and clinical adoption

Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 6+ years’ medical device sales experience
- Strong ophthalmology experience, ideally within retina
- Experience selling laser-based medical devices or capital equipment
- Proven ability to develop and grow a territory independently
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, self-starting approach
- Strong relationship-building skills across clinical and hospital environments
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment with high autonomy
