Sales Manager

Competitive Salary + Benefits (Dependent upon experience)

Our Client

A long-established UK business supplying specialist equipment, consumables, and technical support to the automotive aftermarket is seeking a Sales Manager. Known for combining product quality with strong technical expertise and responsive customer service, the organisation serves a broad range of clients including independent workshops, dealer groups, and national service chains. The Role

The Sales Manager will lead and develop a team of approximately seven Field Sales Executives to deliver sales growth across the Southern Region. This includes:

  • Setting strategic direction for the team
  • Ensuring effective market coverage
  • Driving the uptake of new products across the customer base

The role requires a strong focus on both retaining and developing existing accounts, as well as identifying and securing new business opportunities in line with company plans.

Working closely with senior leadership, the Sales Manager will act as the key link between the field and head office, ensuring insights from customers and market intelligence inform business decisions. They will be responsible for:

  • Coaching, training, and managing performance across the Field Sales Team
  • Fostering a positive, results-driven culture

The position also involves:

  • Contributing to annual budgeting and sales planning
  • Monitoring costs
  • Ensuring compliance with company processes
  • Maximising efficiency across all sales activities

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven experience in managing and developing a dispersed field sales team within a B2B environment
  • A track record of achieving and exceeding ambitious sales targets
  • Strong leadership, commercial acumen, and the ability to build long-term customer relationships

A willingness to travel extensively and spend significant time in the field with the team is also required. Sector experience within automotive, engineering, or technical products would be an advantage but is not essential.
