Sales Manager

Sales Manager – UK Temporary Works Specialist

Location: Strood Working Pattern: Hybrid

We are a 60+-year industry leader in temporary works, combining engineering excellence with unmatched service to deliver tailored solutions for any project scale or complexity. Our customer base spans civil engineering and construction contractors, asset owners, consulting engineering firms, and small builders.

About the Role

Join our south west team as Sales Manager—a development-focused position to upskill, grow, and thrive within a long-standing organisation. You’ll play a key role in shaping revenue through strategy, relationships, and technical expertise.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and refine sales tactics aligned with sector-based Sales plans to maximise profit from existing and new temporary works solutions
  • Uplift revenue by promoting pre-engineered standard solutions through depot sales desks
  • Deliver high-quality design principles for the engineering team to input into bespoke solutions
  • Drive revenue targets by building relationships with key accounts (£20k+ and national level) and identifying local and national growth opportunities
  • Coordinate engagement with Field Engineers, Engineering and General Manager teams to accelerate deal progress
  • Support national account development via local project insights, liaising with our national account team
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring mutually beneficial resolutions
  • Stay ahead of industry trends by leveraging published construction sales leads and project insights, becoming an expert on new and underway schemes

Management Experience in Multi-Site Environments

Round-out your expertise and grow through Mabey Hire’s structured career pathway. Build experience handling groundworks contracts, engaging value-add clients, and shaping multiple projects.


Person Specification

  • Proven sales experience in multi-site, fast-paced environments
  • Strong track record in Working with Groundworks companies (preferably customer-facing roles)
  • Civil Engineering, Construction sector or Plant Hire experience, with a focus on Groundworks solutions
  • Customer-facing mindset with the ability to negotiate and build long-term partnerships
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential for site visits and customer meetings)
