As a First Line Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of account executives and promoting SAP's products and solutions to customers and prospects within the Discreet manufacturing & business services sectors. These sectors sit within the wider Critical & Services space, consisting of organisations that deliver essential infrastructure, public services and economic resilience. These sectors span 11 diverse industries and are all fundamental to the UK’s economic strength and public safety. You will play a pivotal role in driving revenue management for your sector whilst underpinning the strength of the UK Economy. This includes accurate forecasting, pipeline health, and demand generation strategies to ensure consistent growth and predictable results. You will lead and coach a high-performing team of senior sales professionals, fostering strategic engagements and building trusted relationships with SAP’s top enterprise customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. Your leadership will directly impact revenue attainment, customer success, and long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of seasoned salespeople, promoting a collaborative atmosphere that encourages the sharing of insights and best practices. Focus on skill development and strategic planning to enhance team performance; Strategic Engagements: Develop and execute comprehensive strategic engagement plans. These plans will be based on mid to long-term planning while also capitalizing on short-term opportunities (less than 12 months). Understand customer business goals and develop strategic plans; manage executive relationships; align SAP solutions portfolio to deliver value; Relationship Management: Build and sustain strong relationships with SAP's most significant enterprise customers, working diligently to understand and influence their business requirements and specifications. Your aim is to become a trusted advisor at the right senior level at the customer which adds value at every interaction; Opportunity Identification: Spot new opportunities where SAP's integrated solutions can address business needs. Generate demand by aligning SAP's capabilities with customer challenges to drive growth and solution adoption; Customer Success: Ensure customers effectively adopt SAP solutions and realize the full benefits, thereby enhancing their satisfaction and loyalty; Business Continuity and Expansion: Focus on the continuity of existing business and strategically expand engagements for named accounts. Seek opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within the customer base and convert them in to our Private and Public cloud portfolio; Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with partners and internal stakeholders, aligning efforts to support customer objectives and ensure a seamless experience. Establish executive relationships across industry, community, business groups, and key partners to provide strategic advice and grow business.

Expectations and Tasks:
Manage and coach a high caliber sales team; Define vision and strategy to generate competitive advantage and new revenue streams; Develop understanding of SAP processes, market trends, and competitive tactics; Ensure disciplined solution selling with clear business cases and ROI; Drive team towards market penetration and satisfaction levels; Manage opportunities and resources, removing obstacles and driving results; Facilitate growth and development of the sales team, setting objectives and performance standards.
Additional Information: As a people manager, you will support the success of both direct reports and extended team members by identifying development opportunities and providing immediate feedback for improvement.
Work Experience:
15+ years in sales of complex business software/IT solutions; Proven track record in business application software sales; Experience in team selling environments; Success in complex, long-cycle sales campaigns and contract negotiations.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor equivalent; Demonstrated knowledge of consultative selling methodologies and risk mitigation strategies; Fluent in English
