About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Sales Manager / Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in technical sales within the capital equipment sector.
Working closely with our experienced sales team, you will develop new business opportunities, strengthen relationships with existing customers, and provide solutions that help our customers improve their operations. Full product and sales training will be provided. Overseas travel and overnight stays within the UK will be a regular requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, develop, and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned markets.
- Promote the company's range of equipment, solutions & services.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and follow up sales opportunities.
- Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations, and presentations.
- Work closely with the service and technical teams to deliver outstanding customer support.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity using the company's CRM system.
- Monitor market activity, competitor developments, and customer requirements.
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events as required.
- Achieve agreed sales targets and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and a genuine interest in helping customers find the right solutions. This role could suit candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including:
- A graduate with approximately three years' post-graduate experience in sales, business development, account management, or another customer-facing commercial role.
- An experienced service technician within the capital equipment industry who is looking to move into a customer-facing sales position.
- A candidate with experience in the food industry, particularly food processing & manufacturing.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development.
- Capital equipment sales experience.
- Commercially aware with a desire to build a successful career in sales.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
- Full, valid driver's license.

- Experience in the food industry.
- Technical knowledge of food processing or packaging equipment.
- Experience using a CRM system.
- Experience preparing quotations or technical proposals.
