GTM Engineer Manager (Sales) – Role Overview

As a GTM Engineer Manager at Clay, you’ll lead and scale a team of Mid-Market/Enterprise Go-To-Market Engineers who blend technical expertise with creative consultation.

Your role is architecting motion—not just managing a technical team, but ensuring Clay excels in high-stakes, complex Go-To-Market scenarios, while nurturing a culture that positions your team members as stronger, trusted advisors who transform how companies think about growth.


What You’ll Do

Build and develop a high-performing team:

  • Recruit, onboard, and coach GTMEs with technical depth paired with sales acumen.
  • Create scalable enablement systems that teambuild, spoil curiosity, and empower strategic impact.

Lead the GTM playbook:

  • Oversee discovery frameworks, demo structures, qualification criteria—balancing rigor with the flexibility to innovate.
  • Decide when to enforce structure and when to encourage out-of-the-box problem-solving.

Bridge stakeholders and product strategy:

  • Collaborate with Sales leadership, Product, and Customer Success.
  • Distill cross-deal insights into actionable product feedback, ensuring the field has the power to win through better tools and insights.

What You’ll Bring

This role requires someone who coaches in the moment, stays hands-on, and knows how scaling processes leaves room for artistry.

  • 10+ years of leadership: Proven track record of leading high-performing GTM/AE/SE/technical sales teams.
  • Expertise in Mid-Market/Enterprise B2B deals, including technical objections, deal navs, and closing tactics.
  • GTM Systems builder: Passionate about GTM automation, enablement, and empowering teams that redefine how companies innovate in growth at scale.
