Sales Manager – Payments
Fintech | London (Hybrid)
£80,000 base + uncapped commission (OTE £120k–£160k)
Some of the UK's most traditional industries have a payments problem. This business solves it and needs a hunter to take that story to market.
The company:
A well-funded, scaling fintech providing regulated payment solutions to professional services firms handling high-value, high-stakes transactions. Established client base, new senior sales leadership, and clear investment behind growth.
What you'll be doing:
- Hunt for new business across professional services and regulated markets, building genuine market intelligence rather than spraying outbound
- Own the full sales cycle - prospecting, discovery, tailored proposals and close with warm accounts to accelerate your start
- Land and expand: turn a single senior relationship into a firm-wide account spanning multiple departments and practice areas
- Become a trusted expert in your clients' world, presenting with the gravitas senior stakeholders expect
- Represent the business at industry events — you enjoy walking into a room of strangers and leaving with real leads
- Split your week between the office, home, and client visits across the UK

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What they're looking for:
- A proven B2B sales hunter with a background in complex, consultative sales ideally into regulated or risk-sensitive environments (money, data, compliance) or professional services
- Consultative by nature - this is a considered, relationship-led sale to a traditional buyer, not a high-velocity SaaS motion
- Skilled at converting one point of contact into a network of internal referrals
- Intellectually curious, quick to absorb a technical and regulatory subject matter, and credible in front of senior decision-makers
- Comfortable with regular UK travel and a hybrid working pattern
- Commercially driven - performance here is measured on revenue, not dials or meeting counts
- Experience dealing with or selling to the legal sector is highly desirable, likely essential
