Sales Manager - Moxy Glasgow Merchant City

THE PERSON The Sales Manager Glasgow Merchant City is a commercially driven sales leader within the wider UK Sales team, responsible for generating business for Moxy Glasgow Merchant City. This role focuses on driving demand exclusively for Moxy Glasgow Merchant City by leveraging the hotel’s central location, building strong relationships with local companies and key city partners, growing corporate and intermediary accounts, and identifying opportunities linked to Glasgow’s business, events, and visitor economy. You will work closely with the on-property team, Marriott Global Sales, Hotel Co 51 colleagues, and local partners including non-accommodation venues such as Strathclyde TIC to generate relevant transient, group, and leisure business for this hotel. You will lead day-to-day proactive sales activity for Moxy Glasgow Merchant City, with a strong focus on building long-term, value-driven client relationships that help deliver the hotel’s revenue goals. THE JOB Drive proactive sales activity for Moxy Glasgow Merchant City, building strong relationships with new and existing clients to grow revenue across agreed market segments. Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across corporate transient, group corporate, intermediary, and leisure markets for the hotel. Develop and manage account plans for key local and national clients, increasing production and share for Moxy Glasgow Merchant City. Create and execute a commercial sales plan for the hotel, aligning activity with revenue goals, market opportunities, and property priorities. Work closely with the on-property team, Marriott Global Sales, Hotel Co 51 colleagues, and external partners to unlock new demand opportunities for the hotel. Conduct regular client-facing activity including sales calls, appointments, site visits, networking events, and local market engagement to generate qualified business. Support the hotel with pipeline management, forecasting, account insights, and local market intelligence to strengthen commercial decision-making. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and demand patterns to identify opportunities, protect market share, and keep the hotel commercially competitive. Act as a key point of contact for managed accounts, ensuring a high standard of customer service and a smooth handover of business into the hotel. Use CRM tools including SFA Web to manage lead activity, track account performance, maintain accurate records, and support reporting. Represent Moxy Glasgow Merchant City with a visible and credible presence in the market, building awareness and generating new demand through direct sales activity. Ensure all sales administration and booked business are managed efficiently, including proposals, contracts, client communication, and internal follow-up. Work with Marketing to align campaigns, messaging, and promotional activity with the commercial priorities of Moxy Glasgow Merchant City. Maintaining Business Goals Establish and maintain complete and up-to-date lead response information Generate and organise sales reports using multiple data systems Track and report on KPIs such as lead conversion rates, revenue contribution in the managed segments, and client engagement LANGUAGE Language requirements: Business proficient English Profile Highly detailed and accurate, especially when managing sales data, contracts, and reporting. Clear, confident, and persuasive communicator in both written and verbal formats, able to influence stakeholders at all levels. Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across a regional portfolio. Commercially astute with a strong understanding of revenue management, groups, market trends, and competitor activity. Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to identifying new business opportunities and driving performance. Positive, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. Builds trust through authenticity, professionalism, and ethical conduct. Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion. Comfortable with regular travel across the region to meet clients and support hotel teams. Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient at Microsoft Office, especially: Excel (you’ve got to love those spreadsheets) Word (perfect for proposals) PowerPoint (make your presentations pop) and Outlook (you use all the tools). Strong organisational and time management skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Future Career Progression Ideal for experienced Sales Managers ready to step into a multi-site, regional-level role with greater autonomy and strategic impact. Exposure to regional and international sales strategies Education and Professional Certification Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum 2 years of proactive hotel sales experience, ideally within a branded or lifestyle hotel environment. Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a competitive market. Familiarity with CRM systems such as SFA Web or Opera Sales & Catering is highly desirable. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and translate insights into strategy.
