Sales Manager North East

TOMRA was founded in 1972 and has grown from designing and manufacturing reverse vending machines (RVMs) to providing innovative solutions for enabling the circular economy. Our advanced collection, sorting, and food processing systems, powered by sensor-based technology, revolutionise sustainability.

At TOMRA, we empower innovation and foster a culture of passion and responsibility, with 5,000 employees globally supporting our mission to make a sustainable planet achievable.

As a leading innovator in the circular economy and Clean Loop Recycling, TOMRA has made recycling easier with over 85,000 installations across 60+ markets. We are excited to establish our local organisation in the UK, particularly in advance of the UK Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) launching in October 2027.

Sales Manager – North East England (Territory Account Manager)

About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious and relationship-driven Sales Manager to support the growth of TOMRA in North East England. You’ll lead the commercial development of our territory, building key partnerships across the region while supporting DRS implementation—a pivotal moment in the UK’s recycling future.

This is an autonomous role where you’ll drive new business opportunities, shape regional strategies, and convert pilots into long-term partnerships, backed by a collaborative and supportive team.

The Opportunity

The UK Deposit Return Scheme is accelerating, creating increased demand for TOMRA’s innovative collecting, sorting, and recycling solutions. As a Sales Manager, you will:

  • Take full ownership of generating and growing a pipeline of new opportunities in North East England.
  • Engage directly with decision-makers, including retailers and local authorities, to build lasting relationships.
  • Identify solutions and value propositions that align with customer needs, paving the way for long-term commercial agreements.
  • Work closely with teams to define contracts, pricing models, and commercial strategies that seal the deal.
  • Sponsor and present at customer engagements and industry events, further establishing TOMRA’s trusted position in the region.
  • Harness TOMRA’s era-defining technology to shape North East’s sustainable future—starting with how consumers recycle.

TOMRA operates with agility and trust. You’ll be given room to organise your workload your way, while also having access to industry expertise and round-the-clock support.

Key Responsibilities

Your role in Sales & Customer Growth will include:

  • New business development: Proactively identifying, qualifying, and closing leads within your region to gradually expand your customer base.
  • Key account management: Engaging proactively with industry customers to solve challenges and secure partnerships for TOMRA’s repository of solutions.
  • Processes & win rates: Developing tailored strategies that align deal narratives with customer mandates and commercial priorities.
  • Leadership: Representing TOMRA regionally at customised engagements, pilot initiatives, and industry events.
  • Team Collaboration: Co-creating proposals, pricing, and proof-of-benefit cases with stakeholders, cascading insights to align cross-functionally.
  • Target achievement: Planning and delivering targets through calibrated management of your pipeline of opportunities and ongoing relationships.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
