The Position
Reporting under Northern Europe Commercial, the [Sales Manager] is responsible for promoting and selling RES’s Wind Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Services within the region. Your core focus will be building strong client relationships, strategising sales growth, and ensuring service expansions that drive business success.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Bid Management, and Engineering, to deliver bespoke solutions that address wind farm operational needs.
Key Accountabilities

Sales Strategy Develop and execute a region-specific sales strategy for Wind O&M Services, aligning with RES’s broader business objectives in Northern Europe.

Business Development Identify and pursue new opportunities, including:
- Long-term maintenance contracts
- Large-scale corrective services
- Performance optimisation initiatives

Client Relationships Build and sustain key accounts with:
- Wind asset owners
- Project developers
- Strategic industry partners

Contract Negotiations Lead negotiations for service agreements, ensuring favourable terms for both clients and RES. Prepare and present tailored commercial proposals.

Market Intelligence Stay informed on:
- Wind energy trends
- Competitor activities
- Relevant Northern Europe regulations affecting O&M services

Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with technical and operational teams to refine offerings, ensuring alignment between client needs and RES’s capabilities.

Forecasting & Reporting Provide accurate sales forecasts and maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) records. Report progress biweekly to senior management.
Knowledge

Wind Energy Sector In-depth expertise in wind O&M, encompassing performance enhancement, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting methodologies.

Technical Understanding Proficiency in:
- Wind turbine technologies (onshore/offshore)
- Best practices for O&M optimisation
- Performance analytics and anomaly detection

Contracts & Regulations Knowledge of:
- Major service contract structures
- Regional energy industry warranties
- Mandatory EU/UK/Nordic renewables legislation

Sales Processes Expertise in B2B sales cycles, from initial prospecting to contract signing and post-sale support.
Skills

Communication Exceptional verbal and written clarity, able to simplify complex technical data for decision-makers and stakeholders.

Negotiation Proven track record in:
- High-value deal closure
- Persuading key stakeholders to adopt O&M solutions

Technical Acumen Capacity to bridge the gap between engineering teams and business leaders.

Experience
- Minimum five years’ experience in wind energy sales, preferably within O&M services.
- Proven success in:
- Negotiating contracts with wind asset owners/operators
- Customising service models to fit diverse client needs
- Operating within Northern Europe or similarly dynamic markets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field e.g. Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business. A master’s degree is advantageous.
- Fluency in English. Competency in a local Northern European language (Danish, German, Swedish etc.) is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Van der Spijker Foundation Windfarm Operations, Energy Management ISO 50001) noted as a plus.
Technical Considerations
Familiarity with digital performance monitoring tools (e.g. SCADA, Condition Monitoring Software) will be beneficial. Journey-to-value assessments and cybersecurity will feature in your work, so operational awareness of modern wind system integrity remains key.
