We are recruiting on behalf of a leading company within the construction equipment industry that is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager / Sales Manager to join its growing team in North England.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven sales professional with experience in the construction sector to develop new business, manage key customer relationships, and drive revenue growth across the region. With uncapped commission, this role offers excellent earning potential for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within the construction industry.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, plant hire companies, developers, and key decision-makers.
  • Manage and grow an existing customer base while actively winning new accounts.
  • Deliver professional sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and successfully close sales.
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure outstanding customer service.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Area Sales Manager, or similar role.
  • Previous experience selling into the construction sector is essential.
  • Strong business development and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own territory effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence.
