Job Description
What You Will Do
We are looking for a commercially driven and strategic Sales & Marketing Director to lead the growth and expansion of our EV charging and smart infrastructure business across the UK. This is a home-based role with regular travel to customer sites, industry events, and company offices.
This senior leadership position will play a critical role in accelerating revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening customer relationships within the rapidly evolving EV sector. The role will lead the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies, oversee key account management and business development activities, and inspire a high-performing commercial team to exceed ambitious growth objectives.
You will champion a culture of customer excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement while working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of customer solutions. The role requires exceptional leadership, commercial acumen, and a strong understanding of the EV charging and sustainable transport markets.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading the sales & marketing strategy and commercial growth of the EV charging business
- Delivering revenue, profitability, and market share objectives
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities across public and private sectors
- Developing strategic partnerships with key customers, stakeholders, and industry partners
- Building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing sales and marketing teams
- Driving customer engagement and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction
- Collaborating with operational and project delivery teams to ensure successful customer outcomes
- Supporting the strategic growth and long-term vision of the business
- Promoting a positive, high-performance sales and marketing culture across the organisation

On a Day-to-Day Basis, You Will:
- Develop and deliver sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion
- Manage sales pipelines, forecasting, and performance against commercial targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders
- Identify market trends, competitor activity, and new business opportunities within the EV sector
- Collaborate with operational teams to maximise commercial opportunities and customer value
- Report on sales and marketing performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership
- Lead, develop, and grow a high-performing sales and marketing team
- Represent the business at industry events, customer meetings, and networking opportunities

Qualifications
Essential:
- Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role with responsibility for driving significant revenue growth
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, and P&L accountability
- Demonstrable success in developing and executing strategic sales and marketing plans
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and high-value commercial contracts
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills at executive level
- Ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing sales and marketing teams
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Strong analytical and strategic decision-making capabilities
- Full UK driving licence

Desirable:
- Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience within the EV charging, renewable energy, smart infrastructure, or transportation sectors
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement and framework agreements
- Experience selling infrastructure, technology, or energy solutions
- Knowledge of Salesforce or equivalent CRM platforms
- Established network within the EV, fleet, local authority, or transport sectors
- Experience working within a fast-growth or scale-up environment
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and talent development capability
