We're seeking a strategic and highly experienced Sales and Marketing Director
To join an award-winning travel specialist, where you'll play a key role in driving commercial growth and shaping the company's future success.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a broad commercial leadership role responsible for building an integrated Sales and Marketing function that combines brand, customer insight, digital capability, CRM, sales excellence, and technology to deliver exceptional customer experiences and long-term commercial success. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Board, you’ll provide strategic leadership across customer acquisition, conversion, retention, and customer lifetime value, ensuring Sales and Marketing operate as one commercial growth engine.
Our client is looking for an ambitious, commercially minded leader who combines strategic vision with a passion for building brands, developing high-performing teams, and delivering sustainable business growth. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading integrated Sales and Marketing functions within a customer-focused organisation and will be comfortable influencing at Executive and Board level. They’ll bring the strategic capability to shape long-term direction whilst maintaining a strong commercial focus on execution and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an integrated Sales & Marketing strategy aligned to the Company's long term growth ambitions.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth, market share, and profitability across both the UK and US markets.
- Lead the commercial development of the US business, creating a scalable growth model that can be replicated as the business expands internationally.
- Identify new commercial opportunities, strategic partnerships, and routes to market.
- Lead annual commercial planning, budgeting, and performance reporting.
- Lead the ongoing development of the brand, customer proposition, and market positioning.
- Oversee content strategy, PR, communications, social media, and brand storytelling.
- Develop integrated customer acquisition strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels.
- Lead performance marketing, digital marketing, website optimisation, and digital customer experience.
- Build strategic partnerships, affiliate programmes, and referral initiatives that support scalable growth.
- Lead and develop a high-performing sales function focused on customer experience and commercial performance.
- Develop CRM and customer lifecycle strategies that increase engagement, retention, and customer lifetime value.
- Develop a modern commercial capability that leverages customer data, marketing technology, automation, and AI to improve effectiveness, productivity, and customer experience.
- Lead the continued evolution of the Company's marketing technology roadmap, ensuring systems support scalable UK and US growth.
- Build, inspire, and develop high-performing Sales and Marketing teams.
- Work closely with Product, Operations, Finance, and Technology to deliver integrated business objectives.

Skills Required
- Significant senior leadership experience across Sales and Marketing within a consumer-facing business.
- Experience within travel, hospitality, leisure, or another premium consumer-facing business.
- A proven track record of delivering profitable commercial growth through integrated sales and marketing strategies.
- Experience of building recognised consumer brands through data-led customer acquisition, retention, and commercial optimisation.
- Experience leading insight-driven commercial functions that use experimentation, testing, and optimisation to drive continuous improvement and measurable commercial performance.
- Proven ability to scale customer acquisition across multiple markets, translating customer insight into compelling propositions and sustainable growth opportunities.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy, performance marketing, CRM, customer lifecycle management, customer insight, and analytics.
- Experience of leveraging Salesforce CRM, Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot), and marketing automation as strategic commercial platforms.
- Experience introducing automation, AI, and technology-enabled ways of working to improve effectiveness, productivity, and scalability.
- Experience across both digital and traditional marketing channels, including CRM, performance marketing, content, PR, partnerships, and offline media.

Compensation and Benefits
On offer is a competitive salary circa £90k, plus 10% performance-related bonus & other excellent benefits. This is a remote role with weekly visits to our client’s West Midlands-based head office.
