Travel Trade Account Manager – MMGY Global

As the Travel Trade Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining outstanding relationships with high-profile international destination clients and travel trade partners. Your role involves account management for multiple clients, ensuring excellent delivery of planned scope across the UK & Irish markets while exceeding KPIs.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who thrives on multi-tasking, engaging with diverse audiences, and working at pace. You’ll need to be adaptable, proactive, and commercially astute—with a passion for travel and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationships:

    • Develop and nurture relationships with destination clients and partners
    • Collaborate with product managers, travel agents, airlines, and tourism boards
  • Account Management & Strategy:

    • Monitor market trends and stay updated on travel trade intelligence
    • Drive KPI performance in-handling multiple client accounts
    • Take the initiative to share innovative ideas and strategies with clients

  • Sales & Training:

    • Conduct sales calls, virtual webinars, and in-person training sessions
    • Project manage and deliver client events, workshops and FAM trips
    • Organize and host Family Article (FAM) trips in-destination on behalf of clients
  • Campaign & Reporting:

    • Negotiate and analyze co-op marketing proposals
    • Manage end-to-end campaign delivery to post-campaign reporting
  • Representation & Networking:

    • Speak on behalf of destination clients at industry events
    • Build and maintain a strong internal and external network within the sectors

Core Skills & Experience (Essential)

  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in a similar role (e.g., tourism marketing, travel PR, or destination management).
  • Experience in key sectors: tour operators, airlines, travel agencies, or tourism boards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present ideas clearly.
  • Experience hosting events or FAM trips, as well as organising onsite visits.
  • Hands-on experience with budget management and an eye for financial data.
  • Professional Representatives Network within the UK & Ireland travel trade.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in fast-moving environments.

Plus Points:

  • Professional background in agency work or DMO experience (especially with North American destinations).
  • Expertise in UK & Irish outbound travel markets is highly advantageous.
  • Some domestic and international travel required, including attendance at evening events.
