Travel Trade Account Manager – Role Summary

As the Travel Trade Account Manager, you will develop and maintain strong relationships with high-profile international destination clients and travel trade partners. This role involves managing multiple clients in the UK & Irish markets, ensuring the successful delivery of planned work while exceeding targets.

The ideal candidate is confident, multi-tasking, experienced in communicating with diverse audiences, and able to work efficiently at a fast pace.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with destination clients
  • Build relationships with travel trade partners, including product managers, travel agents, and airlines
  • Manage daily account activities to ensure KPIs are met
  • Monitor market trends and stay updated on travel trade intelligence
  • Proactively generate new ideas and present them to clients
  • Collaborate with partners to enhance product offerings
  • Conduct sales calls, host training webinars and deliver in-person training sessions
  • Organise client events
  • Negotiate and analyse co-op proposals while managing campaigns to post-campaign reporting
  • Represent clients at industry events
  • Plan and lead FAM (Familiarisation) trips in-destination

Core Qualifications & Experience

The following skills and experience are essential for this role:

  • 3-4 years (minimum) of experience in a similar role within the tourism industry
  • Experience in roles such as tour operators, airlines, or travel agencies is considered a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple clients/projects simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in hosting events or FAM trips
  • A well-established network within the UK & Irish travel trade industry
  • Budget management experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Occasional domestic and international travel, as well as attendance at evening events, will be required.


Advantageous Additional Experience

  • Agency or tourism board experience
  • In-depth knowledge of the UK & Irish outbound market
  • Experience working with North American DMOs (Destination Marketing Organisations)
