Role Description

The Sales Negotiator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Newton Mearns. The role involves managing buyer and seller inquiries, arranging and conducting property viewings, and providing clear, timely feedback to clients. The Sales Negotiator will negotiate offers, progress agreed sales through to completion, and maintain accurate records within internal systems. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Building strong relationships with clients
  • Liaising with solicitors and other stakeholders
  • Supporting colleagues with lettings and estate agency activities as required
  • Contributing to branch targets through proactive sales activity

The role also requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the local property market and representing Rettie professionally at all times.

Qualifications

  • Experience within estate agency or residential property sales, with practical understanding of Estate Agents and Lettings processes.
  • Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and the ability to adapt style to different clients.
  • Proven Customer Service skills, with a focus on building trust, handling enquiries efficiently, and managing expectations professionally.
  • Demonstrated Sales skills, including negotiating offers, meeting targets, and identifying opportunities to grow business.
  • Good knowledge of local property markets and willingness to stay informed about industry trends and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in an on-site team environment, with strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using property software and standard office applications; numeracy skills suitable for handling pricing and offers.
  • Previous experience in residential estate agency or a related property role is highly beneficial; relevant training or certifications in property or real estate are an advantage.
