๐Ÿ“Š Sales & Operational Planning Analyst | Tarmac | Hybrid

Do you love turning data into decisions? At Tarmac, we're looking for a Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) Analyst to join a nationally critical planning function that helps shape business performance across one of the UK's leading building materials organisations.

This is more than a reporting role. You'll sit at the heart of our national Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process, partnering with Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations and Finance teams to deliver the insights that drive strategic decisions, optimise performance and support sustainable growth.

If you're passionate about data, forecasting, planning and influencing business outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the end-to-end monthly SIOP cycle, ensuring accurate and trusted planning data
  • Analysing demand, supply, inventory and financial performance to identify risks and opportunities
  • Producing insightful Power BI dashboards, executive reports and senior leadership presentations
  • Driving forecast accuracy through trend analysis and continuous improvement
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations and Finance to align business plans
  • Monitoring inventory, production requirements and transport capacity to support operational efficiency
  • Delivering variance analysis and actionable recommendations to senior decision-makers
  • Helping to automate reporting and enhance planning processes through tools such as Power BI and Anaplan

Iโ€™m in my final year doing Economics and I donโ€™t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer โ€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donโ€™t need a masters. Letโ€™s look at the ones youโ€™d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet โ€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
