Sales Operations Lead
Checkatrade – Sales Operations Lead
Our next Sales Operations Lead will build and run the operational core of Checkatrade’s trade acquisition and activation engine—a hybrid role spanning Sales, Marketing, Account Management, Finance, and Product. This is not a traditional Sales Ops position; it’s a key function to align revenue-generating teams, ensure data-driven decisions, and optimise the entire activation and scaling engine for tradespeople across membership tiers and new products.
About the Role
Sales Ops at Checkatrade empowers high-quality acquisition volume, perfecting a two-sided marketplace where the supply (tradespeople) is also the product and customer. Your priorities:
- Shape customer onboarding processes for balanced growth, ensuring tradespeople and revenue objectives are met
- Dashboards, reporting, and data optimisation tailored to commercial outcomes
- Develop strategy for GTM (Go-To-Market) Operations, Revenue Intelligence, and cross-functional alignment
This is a hands-on, commercial role with impact—your decisions drive quota attainment and revenue for a scalable trade marketplace.
What You’ll Do
Core Focus Areas:
- Technology & Systems Strategy: Align Salesforce, operational tools, and data infrastructure to support trades acquisition and onboarding
- Revenue Intelligence & Forecasting: Build flexible modelling frameworks that empower commercial decisions
- Process Architecture & GTM Operations: Design scalable, lean playbooks, workflows, and reporting standards for sales, product, and operations teams
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Champion clarity of data, metrics, and operational frameworks with Sales, Finance, Product, and Marketing

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Ideal Fit – What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone unafraid to roll up sleeves with a strategic mindset:

- Data-driven storytelling: Ability to translate complex datasets into clear strategies, influence commercial and product decisions
- BI fluency: Experience with tools like Tableau/Looker to define metrics, report KPIs, and dashboard requirements
- Process design: Hands-on experience mapping, documenting, and optimising sales or revenue processes end-to-end
