Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Sales Representative (Independent Trade) role based in London. The Sales Representative will identify new business, manage and grow relationships with independent retailers, wholesalers, and small chains within the assigned territory. Daily responsibilities include:

The role also involves:
- Merchandising products for optimal visibility
- Monitoring stock levels
- Coordinating with the internal team to ensure timely deliveries and accurate invoicing
The Sales Representative will track sales performance, prepare regular reports, gather market insights, and provide feedback on promotions and competitor activity to support ongoing commercial strategy.
Qualifications
- Proven skills in field sales, account management, and customer relationship building within FMCG or grocery/World Foods sectors.
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, and basic merchandising skills to drive profitable growth in independent trade outlets.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse retail partners and decision-makers.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a territory-based role, including planning routes and managing time efficiently.
- Comfort with basic sales reporting, use of CRM or sales tracking tools, and proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Excel, email).
- Valid driving license and ability to travel regularly within Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
- Previous experience in food distribution, ethnic/World Foods, or grocery retail is highly beneficial.
- Relevant education in business, marketing, or a related field is an advantage, though equivalent experience will be considered.
