Our Global Risk Insights business provides geopolitical, security, macroeconomic, and regulatory intelligence to clients spanning financial institutions, corporations, governments, academia, and executives. By helping organizations navigate risk and complexity, we enable businesses to safeguard their operations, employees, and reputations.

This role focuses on driving sales for Oxford Analytica and Dragonfly platforms, as well as bespoke advisory projects.


About the Role

Location: Europe Reports to: Regional Sales Director | Global Head of Risk Sales

As a Sales Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in expanding Dow Jones’ reach in Europe by driving adoption of our geopolitical, security, and macroeconomic analysis. This is a commercial and strategic role requiring a high-performance enterprise sales professional with expertise in high-value consultative selling, deep industry understanding, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across technical and business functions.

You’ll collaborate closely with Sales Generalists, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to craft winning narratives that align our solutions with enterprise clients’ evolving risk priorities.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Own and drive complex, high-value sales cycles across Europe for Global Risk Insights solutions, including:
    • Subscription services: Security Intelligence and Analysis Service (SIAS), Oxford Analytica Daily Brief
    • Advisory & consultancy projects
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs through revenue generation, pipeline expansion, and deal closing.
  • Develop a territory-focused strategy to maximise regional revenue growth and market penetration.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Build long-term trusted relationships with senior executives (e.g., CSOs – Chief Security Officers, Heads of Intelligence, Public Affairs Heads, C-suite level) to position Dow Jones Global Risk Insights (GRI) as a strategic partner.
  • Lead advisory engagements with internal advisory teams and external clients to shape custom solutions and use cases aligned with their priorities.
  • Influence purchasing decisions by articulating business value and risk mitigation strategies.

Pipeline Development & Execution

  • Drive strategic pursuit planning and pipeline expansion in collaboration with Sales Generalists.
  • Identify new opportunities, unlock white space in untapped segments, and expand existing client relationships.
  • Contribute to the creation of proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and technical documentation for deals.

Market Insights & Innovation

  • Analyze competitive dynamics, customer needs, and emerging market trends to differentiate Dow Jones’ offerings.
  • Participate in or lead negotiations (terms, pricing, contract scope) to drive successful deal closures.
  • Engage with Product and Engineering teams to influence product roadmaps based on customer feedback.

Thought Leadership & Team Collaboration

  • Represent Dow Jones at events, briefings, and workshops to educate prospects and strengthen industry positioning.
  • Contribute to marketing assets to amplify Dan Dow Jones’ value proposition.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate sales reports, pipeline forecasts, and opportunity tracking in Dow Jones’ global CRM system.
  • Ensure adherence to sales and compliance processes.
  • Undertake other activities as required by leadership.

Requirement

As a highly successful Sales Specialist in this position, you will:

Essential

  • 7+ years of quota-carrying experience in enterprise sales or business development, with expertise in:
    • Security, geopolitical, macroeconomic, or data analysis sell environment
    • High-value enterprise solutions (typical deal size of $20K+ annual spend)
  • Proven track record in selling to large enterprises across multi-stakeholder deal cycles (commercial, security, legal, procurement).
  • Demonstrable ability to:
    • Identify and influence key decision-makers in strategic accounts.
    • Apply consultative sales methodologies (e.g., Challenger, MDDPICC, SPIN).
  • Strong executive presence, storytelling, and negotiation skills to resonate with both technical and non-technical buyers.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience across cross-functional teams (marketing, product, customer success).
  • Regional experience in Europe
  • Business English proficiency (native or near-native); additional languages a plus.
  • Field sales-ready, with willingness to travel (~30%) across Europe.
