About the Company

The Role

The High-End Sales Specialist role requires that you work closely together with the UK Life Science Sales Team (Territory Managers and Senior Sales Specialists), ideally based in the Midlands or North UK. You are responsible for driving the sales process for high-end life science microscopy systems in the assigned territory which include confocal and spinning disk solutions. During the sales process, you will have meetings with customers to present our product portfolio and you will organize and perform in a convincing way onsite system demonstrations as well as remote demonstrations, providing expert knowledge to solve customers’ applications and issues.

You are responsible for achieving the agreed sales target for the assigned territory as well as a team target. As a High-End Sales Specialist for High End Life Science Systems, you are - together with Sales Management - responsible for observing market trends and proposing and developing strategic sales activities to further develop our business and success in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Driving the sales process for high-end life science solutions in the assigned territory.
  • Managing, organizing and conducting all customer touch points during the sales process (incl. for example customer meetings, system demonstrations, workshops, closing meetings etc.). Travelling within the assigned territory will make up to 60-80% of the time.
  • Cooperating in a very close way with senior sales specialists and other sales and application specialists in UK, especially for your own demo and workshop activities.
  • On occasion providing help to colleagues outside the assigned territory (travel to other countries in Europe represents approximately 10-20% of the travel time)
  • Conducting lectures and training at customer events
  • Participating in local exhibitions
  • Observing and analysing the market and deducting an action plan for the assigned territory with the goal to increase market share
  • Gathering best-practice cases and actively sharing experiences and knowledge within the High-End Life Science sales team
  • Supporting the Marketing team and Sales Management in collecting testimonials, image materials, application notes, etc. from your customers.
  • Maintaining CRM for self-organization and review CRM usage and pipeline management regularly with Sales Manager

Requirements

  • Proven track record in Sales, Application, Product Support for High End Microscopes.
  • Experience in using and/or selling complex, software controlled instrumentation
  • High technical comprehension and interest in complex technology
  • Good technical understanding of optics, optical instruments and imaging methods.
  • Fun and desire to sell - focus on selling and closing deals
  • Good command of English
  • Very good self-organisation and motivation
  • Full driving licence
  • Willingness to travel
  • Solution-oriented thinking and acting
  • Capable of identifying and understanding market trends and demands and transferring them into operational sales activities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work both in an autonomous way and in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated character, eager to work in an international environment.
