The Role: Sales Specialist (Commission-Based)
Leeds-based with on-site work in North London and East Hertfordshire. Key responsibility:
Drive growth through sales excellence on our orthopaedic and neurological portfolio, owning management of high-impact NHS (secondary care) partners. Leveraging account strategy frameworks and local market depth for gentle change working with NHS clinicians. Leading a consumer-facing relationship trading at high value, building on ground practice share and amplifying latest technologies whilst ensuring volume transfer achieved.

What You’ll Be Doing
Strategic Account Development:
- Achieve annual KPIs and sales targets tailored for your region.
- Acquire and service specialty market leads with a focus on trained & experienced clinical customers.
- Develop customised business plans to target high-value accounts, displace competitors, adopt innovative solutions, and protect core business.
Account & Commercial Oversight:
- Own the end-to-end relationship with key customers, ensuring internal alignment (including Marketing, Clinical, and Customer Care) drives organisational efficiency.
- Analyse competitive landscape and market shifts to inform future business plans. Ensure these insights are shared internally with peers and leaders.
Performance & Innovation:
- Ensure uptime clinical learning and informed technology adoption via practical implementations featuring the medtech platform.
- Reinforce understanding in bid/pitch opportunities, pricing, guiding alternatives to accelerate adoption. Prospective retention and ensuring greatest adoption by professionals (KOLs).
- Product & procedural expertise: Maintain deep technical knowledge for surgical products.

Internal Collaboration:
- Act as a change agent across teams – Marketing, Clinical Specialists, Education and Commercial Excellence, ensuring capacity to bridge divides and align business solutions.
- Manage & deliver training with stakeholders to ensure growth projects are measurable, informed and sustained.
- Share and promote regional business updates with peers.
MISSION:
- Bring our muscular innovation to each customer and align resources internally to meet and exceed sales targets.

Key Responsibilities (Account-Focused):

| Relationship Management | Build strong, personalized engagements with clinical decision makers, leading with insights backed by market data. |
| Competitor Displacement | Leverage techniques to secure NH-scales deals including greater resolution or product bundling approaches shifting KPIs. |
| Training & Education | Act as external mentor to local multi-disciplinary teams in adopting advanced/innovative procedures across your territories. |
| Optimising Sales Efficiency | Provide consultative expertise with a strategic focus on consolidation of platform/high-margin products to drive incremental spend. |
| Escalate Problems | Meet failure challenges proactively by exploring alternatives to procurement condition-sensitivity or pricing flexibility that delivers changed. |
Who Are We Looking For?
We seek a dynamic and globally minded professional who will bring a commercial mindset, clinical expertise and inspiring connections to drive growth in the orthopaedic/neurological market.
Key Attributes:
- Proven within sales or commercial sectors, ideally in medical devices or a leading device company.
- Drive: Focused on outcomes, simultaneously maximising stakeholder and ambassador alignment.
- Dynamic customer-stander armed with conviction: ability to problem-solve for short-term sales and long-term relationships succesfully.
- Routinely create winning propositions for key accounts: value-centric vs. price-led negotiation style.
- Egalitarian and trusted colleague: Fourth as core drivers of the public sector stakeholders, demonstrating proactive empathy.

Must-Have Requirements:
- Technical prowess to enquire deeply and direct product knowledge; understanding of existing surgery/is alternatives.
- Account ownership mindset in large market share: self-sufficient traveller able to elevate business development through, strategy motivations.
- Active networker with broader conversations; experienced convincing quite informed but flexible.
- Abuild regional credibility and drive beyond targets that affect trust through conversions, engaging by action and added value.
- Seasoned in medicines and device pre-marketer, including those commercial complexities.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with specialty markets or developing trusted business relationships essential parts of biophysical market.
- Strong understanding accountancy frameworks in healthcare, ensures meaningful spend within tender agreements.
- Collaboration in an amplified team setting, understanding synergising practices for high velocity solutions.
Education, Registration, Experience Requirements:
- Academic: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent credentials) is desirable within Business, Sales, Medical or Health related disciplines.
- Professional: The ideal candidates should have PRINC trust / accreditation or, analogous experience to NHS trust.
- Three to eight years of commercial-medical device or pharmaceutical sales experience.
