Job Overview/Purpose
The Sales Specialist – Public Sector will be responsible for owning and expanding customer relationships across the public sector, particularly within NHS Organisations, Local and Regional Government (LRG), Education and Emergency Services. You will drive growth through strategic account development, new opportunity creation, and executive stakeholder engagement, positioning our Microsoft Cloud services to support better patient outcomes and digital transformation across healthcare environments.
This role is critical in deepening our impact within the Public sector by helping organisations technology to modernise services, enhance cybersecurity, improve data insights, and empower their workforce.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Own and deliver account growth across a portfolio of Public Sector organisations, meeting revenue and margin targets.
- Identify, shape, and close new opportunities within existing accounts and through new customer acquisition.
- Lead end-to-end sales engagements, building clear value propositions and compelling business cases.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders (e.g. CIOs, digital and transformation leaders, procurement).
- Understand Public Sector challenges (clinical, operational, regulatory) and align solutions accordingly.
- Collaborate with Pre-Sales, Delivery, Partners, and Marketing to develop propositions and drive demand.
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and provide market insight to inform go-to-market strategy.

Skills, experience and qualifications
- Proven experience selling technology or IT services into Public Sector organisations (e.g. NHS, local authorities, education, emergency services).
- Strong understanding of Public Sector structures, procurement routes, and digital transformation priorities.
- Experience with Microsoft Cloud technologies (Azure, Modern Workplace, Security, Data & AI).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft sales processes and networks.
- Consistent track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets in complex sales environments.
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders and leading value-based commercial conversations.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Resilient, proactive and structured in managing long sales cycles, forecasting, and account planning, with a genuine passion for improving public sector outcomes.
