About the Role

Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Sales Supervisor who's as passionate about great service as we are.

Hours

  • 7:00am - 16:30pm or 7:30am to 17:00pm Monday to Friday
  • Every other Saturday morning 8am-12pm

Location

Jewson, 120 Wimborne Rd W, Wimborne, BH21 2DT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building excellent relationships with new and lapsed customers so you can understand and meet their needs.
  • Direct management of a team of 5 branch sales people.
  • Maximising customer interactions to support achievement of sales and profit targets through upselling and cross-selling relevant products, offering specific product advice.
  • Getting to know our suppliers and continuously looking for opportunities to improve product and industry knowledge.
  • Ensuring all customer orders are fulfilled in a timely fashion.
  • Following plans to continuously improve customer experience.
  • Advising customers on trading terms and conditions and information in relation to customer accounts and credit levels.
  • Supporting all Company initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow sales, setting clear objectives for the team and maximising growth through cross selling and leveraging our solutions such as Project Estimator and Tool Hire.
  • Lead and engage colleagues via regular comms & team talks.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Strong understanding of sales processes, customer relationship management, and team performance drivers.
  • In-depth knowledge of building materials, construction-related products, and the merchant industry including local market dynamics and competitor activity.
  • Sound awareness of commercial metrics (margin, pricing, conversion rates, sales forecasting, etc.) with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and take action to improve performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills, able to inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing proactive sales team.
  • Proven track record of managing a sales team and achieving or exceeding targets.
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving skills – able to manage team workload, set priorities, and ensure processes are followed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with branch leadership and other departments.
