Role Overview

The Sales Support & Research Coordinator supports the Sales Manager and wider commercial team through lead generation, market research, sales administration, reporting, and client coordination. The role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, maintaining an accurate sales pipeline, supporting enquiry conversion, and providing market insights that help drive hotel revenue.

This position works closely with Reservations, Revenue, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Support & Lead Generation

  • Research corporate, group, and event opportunities within the local market.
  • Build and maintain prospect databases and lead lists.
  • Conduct outbound sales activity including calls, emails, and follow-ups.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, quotations, contracts, and presentations.
  • Manage incoming sales enquiries and ensure prompt responses.

Market Research & Commercial Analysis

  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market developments.
  • Research local events, conferences, and demand drivers.
  • Identify low-demand periods and target business opportunities to support occupancy.
  • Provide market intelligence and commercial insights to the Sales Manager.

  • Maintain accurate records in Opera, CRM, and sales tracking systems.
  • Track enquiries, quotations, conversions, and lost business.
  • Produce weekly and monthly sales activity and performance reports.
  • Monitor KPIs including lead generation, conversion rates, and revenue contribution.

Client & Internal Coordination

  • Support account management activities and client relationship development.
  • Coordinate site visits, familiarisation trips, and client meetings.
  • Liaise with Reservations, Revenue, Events, and Operations teams to ensure smooth handover of confirmed business.
  • Assist with sales campaigns, promotional activity, and commercial projects.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and reporting capability.
  • Proactive, commercially aware, and customer focused.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Opera PMS, CRM systems, or similar hotel software.
  • Knowledge of the Glasgow hospitality market.
  • Previous outbound sales or lead generation experience.
