Job Location: London, UK (Hybrid – 3 days office) Job Type: Contract
About the Role
The Salesforce Solutions Architect provides technical leadership within an Agile Scrum team, ensuring that Salesforce-based solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs. Working alongside Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and stakeholders, the architect translates user stories and requirements into optimal Salesforce configurations and integrations while maximising out-of-the-box capabilities.
This role focuses on solution design, platform governance, and cross-team collaboration to deliver high-value, sustainable Salesforce solutions that drive business efficiency and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Scrum Team Architecture Support
- Serve as the primary technical authority for Salesforce architecture within the Scrum team.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts during backlog refinement to:
- Assess technical feasibility of requirements.
- Refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Identify and mitigate dependencies and technical risks.
- Provide architectural input during sprint planning, including:
- Solution design considerations.
- Implementation complexity assessments.
- Work closely with developers to ensure solutions adhere to agreed architecture and Salesforce best practices.
Solution Design & Technical Leadership
- Design scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions across:
- Sales Cloud
- Experience Cloud
- Salesforce Platform
- Define solution patterns for:
- Data model design.
- Automation strategies (Flow vs. Apex).
- Integration approaches.
- Security and access controls.
- Provide technical guidance to developers, admins, and integration engineers.
- Produce lightweight architecture artefacts, including:
- Solution diagrams.
- Data models.
- Integration flows.
- Design decisions.

Salesforce Platform Expertise
- Advise the team on Salesforce capabilities ("the art of the possible").
- Recommend out-of-the-box declarative solutions before custom development.
- Guide developers on best use of:
- Flow (automation).
- Apex (custom coding).
- Lightning Web Components (modern UI).
- Platform Events (real-time integrations).
- Salesforce APIs (REST/SOAP).
- Ensure compliance with:
- Platform limits.
- Performance best practices.
Integration & Ecosystem Alignment
- Ensure Seamless integration with enterprise systems using:
- REST/SOAP APIs.
- Platform Events.
- Change Data Capture (CDC).
- Middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft).
- Define and validate data flows, ownership models, and synchronisation patterns.
Technical Governance & Quality
- Align solutions with org-wide Salesforce architecture and governance standards.
- Conduct design and solution reviews to assess:
- Scalability.
- Maintainability.
- Risk mitigation.
- Support delivery teams in maintaining:
- High technical quality.
- Comprehensive documentation.
- Robust testing.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a technical advisor for:
- Product Owners.
- Project Managers.
- Business Analysts.
- Stakeholders.
- Translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide balanced recommendations on:
- Business value.
- Technical complexity.
- Platform sustainability.
Required Skills & Experience
Salesforce Expertise
- Strong knowledge of Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Salesforce Platform.
- Practical experience with:
- Flow and declarative automation.
- Apex development and customisation.
- Lightning Web Components.
- Salesforce data modelling. -Ability to design scalable solutions that operate within Salesforce governor limits.

Integration & Architecture
- Understanding of integration patterns and API-based architectures.
- Experience with:
- REST and SOAP APIs.
- Event-driven architectures.
- Middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft).
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce data architecture.
Agile Delivery
- Experience in Agile/Scrum teams, including:
- Backlog refinement.
- Sprint planning.
- User story development.
- Acceptance criteria definition.
- Daily collaboration with developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.
Leadership & Communication
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. -Ability to guide technical teams and influence design decisions without direct authority.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Desirable Qualifications
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect.
- Additional certifications, including:
- Platform Developer.
- Integration Architecture Designer.
- Data Architecture Designer.
- Experience with large-scale Salesforce transformations.
- Multi-system integration projects.
