About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer to join our Product Engineering Team at Sage, based in Winnersh, UK. This hybrid role involves working onsite three days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely on other days. As a core member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Salesforce solutions that support our global SaaS product, Sage People. This product is built on the Salesforce platform and serves customers across various industries, providing vital HR and people management functionalities.
This role is distinctly hands-on, focusing on engineering rather than administration or bespoke customer customization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, testers, architects, and product managers to deliver scalable, robust, and innovative features. Your expertise will contribute to the ongoing evolution of our platform, including integrating AI-driven capabilities, ensuring that Sage remains at the forefront of technological innovation. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in object-oriented programming, with proficiency in Java or C#. Hands-on development experience on the Salesforce platform is essential, including expertise in Apex, SOQL, and JavaScript. A strong understanding of Salesforce Lightning and Lightning Web Components (LWC) is required, along with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Additional qualifications include familiarity with modern development tools such as Git, Jira, IntelliJ, and CI/CD pipelines. Exposure to Salesforce REST APIs and experience working in Agile environments, particularly Scrum or SAFe methodologies, will be advantageous. Salesforce Developer Certification is desirable but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple technical requirements, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
Responsibilities
As a Salesforce Developer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining Salesforce solutions that meet the needs of our global SaaS platform.
- Working directly with Apex, SOQL, JavaScript, and Lightning Web Components to build scalable and efficient features.
- Translating complex business requirements into technical designs, contributing to architecture discussions, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our platform.
- Collaborating closely with a diverse team comprising Salesforce developers, frontend engineers, testers, product managers, and architects.
- Supporting the delivery of customer and people management functionalities, ensuring high standards of code quality and performance.
- Participating in Agile ceremonies, quarterly planning, and product releases.
- Shaping the product roadmap, including integrating AI-driven capabilities to enhance our platform’s offerings.
