Salesforce Developer, GUARDIAN NEWS AND MEDIA

Senior Salesforce Developer – Supporter Revenue Platform

Join our team at The Guardian and be part of a diverse and inclusive global organisation dedicated to delivering fearless, investigative journalism that holds power to account. Our team combines award-winning journalists with cutting-edge commercial professionals and digital experts, committed to making a meaningful difference by representing a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.

We’re now seeking a Salesforce Developer to join the Supporter Revenue Platform team within our product and engineering department.

About the Role

You’ll work alongside three teams in our Growth area of Supporter Revenue, focusing on internal business needs rather than direct customer support. The Platform team ensures:

  • GNM’s Contact Centre has optimised Salesforce Service Cloud tools for critical operations
  • The Guardian’s Help Centre is customer-centric, reducing unnecessary contact volumes
  • Finance teams can accurately access data and generate required reports for revenue and regulatory compliance
  • Operational systems reliably transfer data to BigQuery
  • Underlying technology meets external auditor requirements

Responsibilities

The role encompasses full-stack engineering ownership, working across:

  • AWS
  • Salesforce (including Apex, Lightning Web Components, declarative config)
  • BigQuery
  • Zuora
  • Stripe
  • PayPal
  • GoCardless

So, whether you want to dive into code or configuration, you’ll work on innovative solutions. Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing in Apex and Lightning Web Components to create new features in Salesforce
  • Integrating with internal services and 3rd-party software
  • Occasionally providing 3rd-line troubleshooting for complex technical queries
  • Modernising the Code deployment pipeline and testing frameworks to align with Agile processes
  • Actively participating in product discussions and decision-making—not just technical implementation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
