Job Description
Purpose of the Role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Join Barclays as a Salesforce Developer within Private Bank Wealth Management, supporting Project PRISM, a large-scale 2026 front-office productivity programme focused on integrating core systems, re-engineering processes, and enabling higher-value advisor activities.
In this role, you will deliver primarily greenfield development on Salesforce, building backend microservices, API-led integrations, and orchestration layers that support scalable, resilient, and GenAI-enabled workflows across platforms such as Avaloq and enterprise data systems.

Working in an agile environment, you will take ownership of delivering high-quality solutions aligned to key build milestones, with opportunities to extend into developing additional applications within the CLM domain.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Strong, hands-on experience developing on the Salesforce platform, including Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
- A solid understanding of the Salesforce data model, security framework, and declarative tools such as Flows.
- Proven experience integrating Salesforce with external systems using APIs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control tools such as Git and SFDX.
- A good understanding of secure development practices and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Exposure to backend development using Java.
Highly Valued Skills
- Experience within the Financial Services or Wealth Management domain.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud and multi-org architectures (B2C/B2B).
- Exposure to AI capabilities such as Einstein, Prompt Builder, and Agentforce, along with experience in event-driven architectures and enterprise data platforms.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to the banking industry.

Location
The successful candidate will be based in Glasgow Campus.
