Job Opportunity: Salesforce DevOps Automation Engineer
Contract Length: Half-time (Dec 18, 2026) | Work Setup: Hybrid (60% office, 40% remote) Clearance Required: BPSS eligibility
The Information Technology & Services industry partner is seeking a Salesforce DevOps Automation Engineer to design, implement, and fully automate Salesforce deployment pipelines within Azure DevOps. This role will drive efficiency, consistency, scalability, and reliability in the Salesforce delivery lifecycle, ensuring minimal manual intervention.
The ideal candidate will leverage deep expertise in Salesforce CLI (SFDX), Azure DevOps, CI/CD automation, and Salesforce development practices to build fully automated deployment solutions while promoting continuous improvement and DevOps best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain fully automated Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce applications
- Implement zero-Intervention deployment processes to improve delivery consistency across Salesforce environments
- Use Salesforce CLI (SFDX) to automate:
- Metadata deployments
- Environment provisioning
- Data seeding & validation
- Organizational configurations
- Develop automated workflows for:
- Code integration, testing, validation, packaging, and deployment
- Azure DevOps pipelines, repositories, and release management
- Create reusable pipeline templates, scripts, and automation frameworks to standardise DevOps practices
- Integrate Salesforce Sandboxes, Scratch Orgs, and Production with Azure DevOps pipelines
- Automate validation checks, code quality, compliance, and security scanning throughout the lifecycle
- Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot failures, and optimise execution speed, reliability, and efficiency
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and QA teams to adopt DevOps best practices, including:
- Branching strategies
- Trunk-based development
- Streamed automation & release procedures
- Implement automated rollback mechanisms, version control, and release management
- Maintain technical documentation (pipelines, frameworks, scripts, configurations, and procedures)
- Drive continuous improvement in automation, scalability, deployment quality, and team productivity

Essential Requirements
Must have:
- Demonstrable Salesforce CLI (SFDX) proficiency in:
- Automation, scripting
- Metadata & environment management
- Package deployment (including Unlocked & Managed Patches)
- Extensive Azure DevOps experience, covering:
- Pipelines, Repos, Boards, Artifacts, and YAML configurations
- Proven CI/CD pipeline design for Salesforce environments (at scale)
- Strong understanding of:
- Salesforce’s Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Metadata API & package deployment strategies
- Scripting & automation skills in:
- JavaScript (Node.js), Bash, PowerShell, or equivalents
- Git best practices, including:
- Branching, merging, and code promotion workflows
- Enterprise-class CI/CD knowledge in:
- Scalability, infrastructure as code
- Automated testing (Apex, Selenium), security & governance
- analytical & troubleshooting prowess—hands-on forestallment with meticulous detail
- Experience self-managing initiatives from conceptualisation to completion
- Effective communication & stakeholder engagement (technical and non-technical)

Preferred Certification & Expertise:
- Salesforce certifications:
- Platform Developer I/II
- Salesforce DevOps Engineer
- Additional DevOps tools experience:
- Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Copado
- Agile understanding & Jira/Azure Boards familiarity
- Cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, containers) & IaaS/PaaS deployment
