Salesforce DevOps Lead

Permanent | Hybrid, 2-days per week in London | ASAP Start

We are looking for an experienced Salesforce DevOps Engineer / Lead to design, implement, and optimise DevOps practices across a complex Salesforce environment. You will own Salesforce CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, release management, and environment strategy, working closely with Salesforce architects, developers, and delivery teams to ensure secure, efficient, and high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage Salesforce CI/CD pipelines using Copado, Azure DevOps, Gearset, Jenkins, or similar tools.
  • Manage deployments across Development, SIT, UAT, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
  • Own release planning, deployment execution, validation, and rollback processes.
  • Manage Salesforce environments, sandboxes, scratch orgs, and refresh strategies.
  • Implement source control, branching strategies, and deployment automation.
  • Integrate automated testing and quality gates into release pipelines.
  • Ensure deployments meet governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain release documentation, audit trails, and reporting.
  • Drive DevOps improvements and mentor teams on deployment best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong Salesforce platform experience including administration, deployments, and environment management.
  • Hands-on experience building Salesforce CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce DX (SFDX), Metadata API, and Salesforce security models.
  • Experience with Git-based version control (GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Understanding of release management, Agile delivery, and change governance.
  • Experience working in complex or regulated environments.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with public sector or regulated Salesforce programmes.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and automated testing frameworks.
  • Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Platform Developer, Platform App Builder, Architect, Copado).
  • Experience working in multi-team or multi-vendor delivery environments.
