Job Title: Product Architect

About the FCA and Team

We regulate financial services in the UK to ensure fair, thriving, and effective markets. This role will help protect consumers, drive growth, and shape the future of UK finance.

The Data, Technology and Innovation (DTI) division supports the FCA as a digital-first, data-driven regulator, delivering secure, agile, and cost-effective ecosystems for better decisions and transparency.

Sitting within DTI, the Digital Systems team develops the systems that enable smarter regulatory action.


Role Responsibilities

  • Design repeatable, scalable product architectures that align with business objectives, considering capacity management, IT service management (ITSM), security, and licensing.
  • Identify product innovation opportunities and refine design proposals to drive forward-thinking solutions.
  • Develop roadmaps outlining capability scope, prioritisation, and timelines.
  • Advise and mentor colleagues through thought leadership and training, fostering skills in business, technical, and product architecture.
  • Lead high-impact projects using cutting-edge technologies, tools, and best practices to build deep expertise.
  • Collaborate in a supportive, inclusive culture to maximise individual and team potential.
  • Contribute to regulated industries by designing systems that safeguard critical services for millions.

Skills Required

Minimum:

  • Proven experience with Salesforce CRM
  • Experience as a product architect (Software/Data/System/Application/Security)
  • Significant experience in full product/project delivery lifecycle (developing with Prince2, Agile, Scrum, or DevOps using contractors, third parties, or offshore teams)

Essential:

  • Salesforce proficiency:
    • Architect and Developer Admin certifications
    • Progress toward advanced certifications (e.g., OmniStudio, Vlocity)
  • Solution architecture expertise:
    • With large-scale projects in financial services or regulatory bodies
    • Experience drafting roadmaps and high-level architectural plans
  • Technical and leadership skills:
    • Ability to abstract bespoke solutions into reusable generic architectures
  • Methodologies:
    • TOGAF and ITIL-certified, with hands-on use of modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, Solidatus) and proficiency in UML
  • Broad technology knowledge:
    • Current awareness of IT modernisation and industry standards
    • Business acumen to assess supplier proposals and promote cost-effective solutions
  • Risk & compliance management:
    • Skilled in analysing architectural risks across full project lifecycle and live environments, ensuring stability, scalability, and compliance.
