What is the purpose of the Salesforce Senior Technical Lead role?

Role

You will establish and lead the internal Salesforce capability at NSPCC, taking ownership of the platform and supporting the transition from implementation partner to in-house management. This role is central to ensuring Salesforce effectively supports fundraising, income processing, supporter engagement and data-driven decision-making. You'll contribute by:

  • Leading the design, configuration and ongoing development of Salesforce solutions aligned with organisational needs.
  • Acting as the technical and functional subject-matter expert and escalation point for colleagues supporting and administering the platform.
  • Establishing governance, standards and release processes to ensure Salesforce remains secure, scalable and well supported.

What will I be doing as a Salesforce Senior Technical Lead ?

Reporting To The Head Of Technology Platforms, And Working In Collaboration With Stakeholders Across The Organisation, You Will Provide Technical Leadership And Direction To Ensure The Salesforce Platform Remains Secure, Scalable, Supportable And Aligned To Business Needs. You'll Be Doing This By

  • Leading the design, optimisation and technical governance of the Salesforce platform, including configuration, integrations, security and release management.
  • Working with the Product Owner, business stakeholders and delivery partners to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Establishing and maintaining platform standards, data management practices, environment controls and documentation.
  • Mentoring administrators and super-users, acting as the escalation point for complex platform and data issues.
  • Monitoring platform health, releases, usage and system limits, taking proactive action to maintain performance and resilience.

What skills do I need to be a Salesforce Senior Technical Lead ?

You will bring accountable leadership and a collaborative approach, with proven experience of leading Salesforce platform design, governance and ongoing development in a complex environment. You will be comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams and committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • Strong Salesforce product knowledge, including design, configuration, security model, data model, Flows and Lightning App Builder.
  • Experience of platform governance, release management, sandbox and environment management, and working with implementation partners.
  • Good understanding of data governance, data quality, integrations and platform security.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex concepts, gather requirements and design scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to senior audiences.
  • Strong written, verbal and numerical communication skills.

Where is the role based?

This is a Hybrid role and you will be expected to work out of our London office 1 day per week.
