WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Sample Preparation Technician to join our team here in Liverpool, UK. Reporting directly to the Sample Preparation Departmental Manager, you will be responsible for executing sample preparation methods with a high level of accuracy and precision. This role involves working on a variety of samples and commodities sent to the laboratory for chemical analysis.

The Sample Preparation Department plays a vital role in supporting AHKI’s overall laboratory services. The team is responsible for treating and preparing incoming client materials, as necessary, before dividing them ready for laboratory analysis.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach and work ethic who can demonstrate a diplomatic and measured approach through leading by example and encouraging others.
  • Ability to demonstrate literacy and to be numerate.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work under own initiative in a dynamic work environment with changing daily priorities.
  • The ability to develop the skills and knowledge within the laboratory to create an environment where knowledge sharing is a priority.
  • Able to demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in an organised and structured way, whilst maintaining flexibility to the changing and demanding needs of the business.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Read, understand and follow work instructions and guidelines accurately.
  • Able to focus on meeting given deadlines.
  • Able to communicate effectively in a range of different formats.
  • Proven time management skills, quality driven and pro-active.
  • IT Literate: Competence with standard Microsoft software - email, Word and Excel spreadsheets.

Work Experience

Laboratory experience is desirable but not essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Grade A - C in GCSE English and Mathematics.
