Sample Processing Administrator
Join our team as a Sample Processing Administrator and play a key role in ensuring samples are accurately received, processed, and tracked from arrival through to laboratory analysis or storage. This is a detail-focused role where organisation, accuracy, and teamwork are essential to delivering an excellent service to our clients.
Key Details
- Location: Prescot
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (08:00 - 16:00)
- Contract: Full Time & Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
- Annual Salary: £25,850
- Closing Date: Thursday 9th July 2026
The Day-to-Day
- Receive, unpack, and process incoming samples, ensuring all details are checked and accurately recorded.
- Register samples and create jobs within our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Verify client instructions, sample information, and documentation to maintain full traceability.
- Prepare sample labels and route samples to the correct laboratory, preparation, or storage area.
- Identify and escalate discrepancies such as damaged samples, missing information, or incorrect documentation.
- Maintain accurate records, storage information, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate closely with laboratory, inspection, and administration teams to ensure smooth sample flow.
- Mandatory compliance with company quality procedures, health and safety standards, and manual handling guidelines.

The Essentials
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to follow procedures accurately and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Confident IT skills, including the ability to learn LIMS and other business software.
- Strong communication and collaborative teamwork abilities.
- Competent literacy, numeracy, and administrative skills.
- Understanding of the importance of quality, compliance, and accurate record-keeping.
- Desirable:
- Previous experience in sample processing, laboratory administration, or a similar operational role.
- Experience with LIMS or laboratory systems.
