Sample Processing Administrator – Prescot

About the Role
Join our team as a Sample Processing Administrator and play a key role in ensuring samples are accurately received, processed, and tracked from arrival through to laboratory analysis or storage.
This is a detail-focused role where organisation, accuracy, and teamwork are essential to delivering an excellent service to our clients.
Location: Prescot Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (08:00 – 16:00) Contract: Full Time & Permanent Hours: 37.5 Annual Salary: £25,850 Closing Date: Thursday 9th July 2026
The Day to Day
- Receive, unpack, and process incoming samples, ensuring all details are checked and accurately recorded
- Register samples and create jobs within our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Verify client instructions, sample information, and documentation to maintain full traceability
- Prepare sample labels and route samples to the correct laboratory, preparation or storage area
- Identify and escalate discrepancies such as damaged samples, missing information, or incorrect documentation
- Maintain accurate records, storage information, and supporting documentation
- Work closely with laboratory, inspection, and administration teams to ensure the smooth flow of samples
- Follow company quality procedures, health and safety standards, and manual handling guidelines at all times

- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Able to follow procedures accurately and manage multiple priorities
- Confident using IT systems, with the ability to learn LIMS and other business software
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Good literacy, numeracy, and administrative skills
- Understanding of the importance of quality, compliance, and accurate record-keeping
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in sample processing, laboratory administration, or a similar operational environment
- Experience with LIMS or laboratory systems is advantageous
